Course description: Spanish II for Heritage Learners is a course directed to those students that by heritage have knowledge of the Spanish language.  (Descripción del curso: Español II para Estudiantes del Patrimonio es un curso dirigido a aquellos estudiantes que por patrimonio tienen conocimiento del idioma español.)

Spanish for Native Speakers II extends the reading and writing skills of the fluent speaker with attention to problems particular to Spanish-speaking students. Extensive writing improves the grammar, spelling, and mechanics of formal language use. The students read, discuss, and write about various genres of Hispanic literature, focusing on improving reading comprehension, critical thinking, and analytical skills. The course includes cultural, sociological, and literary insights into the Spanish-speaking world.

(Español para hablantes nativos II extiende las habilidades de lectura y escritura del hablante con fluidez prestando atención a los problemas particulares de los estudiantes de habla hispana. La escritura extensa mejora la gramática, la ortografía y la mecánica del uso formal del lenguaje. Los estudiantes leen, discuten y escriben sobre varios géneros de literatura hispana, enfocándose en la mejora.)

Course textbook/ Texto: Students use El Espanol Para Nosotros Nivel 1 Textbook for Natives Spanish 2. (Los estudiantes usan El Espanol Para Nosotros Nivel 1 Libro de texto para Nativos Español 2.)

Course Materials: Students will need a composition notebook to contain all of their course information and classwork. Students will also be provided with an in-class workbook. (Materiales del curso: Los estudiantes necesitarán una libreta de composición que contenga toda la información del curso y las tareas de clase. Los estudiantes también recibirán un libro de trabajo en clase.)
