Summer Parent Square Announcement #1

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening LHS Students!

Summer Greetings from the Music Department at Lakeside High School! This message is to inform you of upcoming events that are required for all CURRENT AND INCOMING Lancer Regiment Members (band, percussion, and color guard). If you are interested in joining band and haven’t spoken with Mr. Fossmo yet, it’s not too late! Please contact me via one of the methods listed below and we’ll get you signed up!! If you took last year off due to COVID issues, we welcome you back as well!

Summer Drum Camp is underway. ALL Drumline and Front Ensemble (Pit) Students will rehearse Tuesday’s and Thursday’s throughout the summer break from 3 – 5 pm. These rehearsals are MANDATORY.

Wind and Guard Sectionals will begin on July 6^th.  MANDATORY Dates are as follows;

July 6 (Instrument and Locker Issue), 8 (Summer Music Distributed), 13,15, 20, and 22 from 8 – 10 am.

Lancer Regiment Band Camp. ALL Band, Percussion, and Color Guard Students are required to attend both weeks!!

Week #1: July 26 – 30 from 8am – 4pm              Week #2: August 2 – 6 from 8am – 4pm

Your student will also need to complete his/her pre-participation physical with their doctor and fill out our participation packet located on the school’s website. You can find the paperwork under the Athletics drop down menu. Select “Athletic Forms” then “Lancer Clearance” to obtain the packet. These packets are due NO LATER THAN JULY 26^TH!

WE HAVE IMMEDIATE OPENINGS FOR POSITIONS ON THE LANCER GUARD. If you have an interest in flag, rifle, saber, and dance choreography and would like to travel and perform throughout Southern California with a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP level program, please contact Mr. Fossmo ASAP. No prior experience is necessary, just a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and have FUN!!
