Welcome to Biology at Lakeside High School! I'm very excited to begin a new school year, even though we're online for now. What a perfect time to be learning about the life around you, as one tiny virus has disrupted our entire world and way of life! We will learn about cells and viruses and exactly how this Covid-19 actually works to damage our bodies and why the big deal!
Please be prepared to keep an open mind as we navigate online together and continue the important building of your education, even in the midst of a pandemic. I am always here to help and happy to learn new things-I hope you are too! You can always email me: [email protected], visit our class blog at mrsandersonsbiology.blogspot.com, or join our Remind group by texting @f4kdfg to 81010. We will be using Canvas as our learning platform, which will be our "house" for all things biology and will have information about the class, links to assignments, due dates, etc.
On the first day of school, go to leusd.instructure.com and type in your school email address (student ID @leusd.k12.ca.us) and your password (birthday). That brings you to your dashboard in Canvas. From there, you should see all your classes. You should check them out ahead of time! When it's time for a particular class, you'll go into that class by clicking the button on your dashboard. For my class, you'll click on the "modules" button on the home page, which brings you to our page that has all of our items to do, kind of like an agenda. At the very top of the page, you'll see a grey box that says "virtual live lessons". When it's time for class, click the link below that and enter the meeting ID number and password: biology to enter into the live Zoom session. I'll be there waiting for you!
