Dear Lakeside Families,
Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! My name is Henry Romero and I’m extremely honored to serve as the new principal of Lakeside High School (LHS). Since joining the LHS team in April, I’ve worked hard to acquaint myself with the community of Lake Elsinore and I’ve sought to gather input from all stakeholders: students, parents, teachers, and community members. It is no surprise that each group proudly affirms the widely known fact that LHS has a world-class team of educators, counselors, and classified staff serving the needs of our amazing students on a daily basis. It is also widely observed that LHS’s identity is rooted in a culture of excellence described in part by rigorous course offerings, high expectations for ALL students, and exemplary student achievements in academics, the arts, and athletics. Furthermore, institutions of higher education and corporations throughout California regard LHS graduates as highly prepared learners who are equipped with the 21st century skills to excel in college and/or career.
As your principal, it is my goal to foster relationships built upon trust and to provide leadership aligned to the core values which serve to support and further LHS’s identity and traditions. I’m also committed to promoting a campus culture that encourages student connectedness, safety, diversity of thought, and balanced learning. Our community, educational professionals, and students recognize that having a strong academic skillset is important. However, equally important is the development of balanced learners who view their uniqueness and individuality as an asset, and who can look beyond traditional perspectives to create new solutions and produce meaningful contributions to our local and global communities.
As we look forward to an exciting new school year, it is important to note that building and shaping the future of LHS will require our entire community to partner together. As your principal, I will lean on the expertise and professionalism of our faculty and staff. I will value the voice of our students, and I will garner input and support from our community. Together we will work side-by-side to ensure that ALL students graduate from LHS well-equipped for college and career, and empowered with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to actively compete in an ever-changing, globally-competitive society.
I look forward to meeting each and every one of you this school year. And please do not hesitate to call my office or to reach me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
