LAKESIDE HIGH SCHOOL Safety Plan

Why You Need a Documented Safety Program | Avitus Group

Lake Elsinore Unified School District and Lakeside High School strive to protect the safety and welfare of students, school staff, and the community with effective prevention and planning.

Students, parents, and families are the first line of communication regarding school safety. Remind your child to say something if s/he sees or hears something potentially dangerous or threatening. Any threats and/or concerns should be immediately reported to school site administration during school hours to 951-253-7304 and local law enforcement during the evening or weekend hours.

Emergency Communication

Lakeside High always sends an email, phone call, and text each time a lockdown or emergency occurs THROUGH OUR PARENT SQUARE SYSTEM.

*Your number/information must already be on file in Infinite Campus to sign up and information must be current & up to date.

Safety Drills

Periodically throughout the year, LHS will implement emergency drills, such as a fire, evacuation, or lockdown drill, to adequately prepare students for any emergency on our campus.

*Many of these drills will be announced and may be randomly done.

Campus Safety Rules

-The 10/10 rule means that all students must remain in class during the first ten minutes of class instruction and the last ten minutes of class instruction.

-Students must have a hall pass when leaving the classroom USING OUR 5 STAR SYSTEM OR A HAND WRITTEN PASS FROM A TEACHER OR SUBSTITUTE.

5 Star System-What is it?

-The 5 star Student system is used on ALL High School campuses in LEUSD

and is used as a campus pass (for restroom, health office, etc. ) instead of a paper pass, for surveys, and as a way to award points to students to use for prizes for attending school events (such as sports games, dances, and club meetings/events, or spirit days) on campus.  Students have access to the system by using their phone and the downloaded app. The app is also beneficial in the event of an emergency or lockdown.

Drug searches and Drug Dog Visits

Drug Dog Visits- Throughout the year, LHS will host drug dogs from InterQuest to ensure school safety for students and staff. The link explains what students can expect during these visits.
