Welcome to ERWC (Expository Reading & Writing Curriculum), a college preparatory, rhetoric-based English language arts course for 12thgrade. The skills that will be covered in this class include critical thinking skills, identifying and utilizing argumentative reasoning, comparing and contextualizing, crafting and analyzing rhetoric-based arguments using textual evidence, and interpreting and synthesizing fiction and non-fiction literature.
This course is developed to align with the California State Standards, and each learning module is created by CSU curriculum specialists while supplemented for better understanding and engagement. During the year the following themes are emphasized: Proper analysis & annotation, art of persuasion, and topical debate.
